At the invitation of the Hawaii State Public Library System’s (HSPLS) Library Development Office, State Law Librarian Jenny Silbiger and Public Services Librarian Marlene Cuenco presented a brief overview of legal information as well as guidance on addressing legal questions from the public. They did a deep dive with HSPLS librarians on navigating the legal reference interview and the differences between providing legal information vs. legal advice. They finished the presentation with a workshop on handling and effectively answering real-life legal questions using legal information tools and resources.
