Eviction Moratorium (Act 202, SLH 2024) Resources
- Maui Eviction Moratorium Information and Resources: FAQ from the Office of Consumer Protection (OCP). Includes the Hawai‘i Residential Landlord-Tenant Information Center.
- Understanding Act 202 – Tenant Rights and Responsibilities. Effective February 5, 2025: Maui Mediation Services put together an informational page on understanding the Maui eviction moratorium on that will end on February 4, 2025.
Legal Services
- Maui County Bar Association Disaster Legal Hotline: Legal assistance for the residents of Maui and Big Island affected by wildfires.
- Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation: Will answer questions, provide legal information, and share referral information to those that need it. It will also provide Native Hawaiian Families with legal counseling and representation to keep family lands and homesteads and protect cultural rites.
- Volunteer Legal Services Hawai‘i: A non-profit legal service organization that provides legal assistance to the low to moderate income community. They are coordinating with Legal Aid Society of Hawaii to distribute information and legal resources to those in need.
- 2nd Circuit, Hawai‘i State Judiciary: Contact information for Maui County offices and services
- Legal Aid Society of Hawai‘i: A public interest, non-profit law firm dedicated to achieving fairness and justice through legal advocacy, outreach, and education for those in need.
- Information/Resources: A YouTube video sharing services and resources that are available to Maui fire victims, including legal services, and shared in multiple languages
- Hawai‘i State Bar Association Legal Line: Volunteer attorneys host a telephone hotline every Wednesday evening from the hours of 6 to 7pm and provide free legal information to the public.
- Immigrant Resource Center: Direct access to interpreters in Chuukese, Marshallese, Ilocano, Tagalog, Spanish, and Tongan.
- Hawai‘i Free Legal Answers: Virtual legal advice clinic in which qualifying users post civil legal questions at no cost to be answered by pro bono attorneys licensed in their state.
- HSBA Lawyer Referral (LRIS): A public service provided by the HSBA. Attorneys signed up for the service are able to assist clients with all types of legal problems.
- The Legal Clinic – Document Replacement Clinic: Legal advocates will be available to help with applications for replacement of lost or destroyed immigration documents including replacement of green cards and certificates of naturalization.

- Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency: Supporting wildfire response and recovery efforts in Hawai‘i and Maui counties, including the extensive damage in Lāhainā.
- Maui Recovers: Official Maui County website for recovery efforts, updates, latest announcements, and support.
- Maui Nui Strong: A collection of resources to provide information and support to help those in need. All resources are provided as a public service by the County of Maui.
- People’s Fund of Maui: Provided direct financial assistance to the people of Lahaina and Kula who experienced devastating losses from the Maui wildfires.

- Hawai‘i Workers Center: A resource devoted to providing information to workers about their rights and provide information on various resources that they may need.
